Perserverance - My Journey
From The Bronx to Boardrooms: My Journey into Finance and Strategy
Early Lessons: Money as a Tool for Freedom
I grew up in The Bronx and Harlem, where my dream was clear—use business to take control of my destiny.
From an early age, I realized that money was more than just a form of currency. Instead, it represented freedom, security, and future power.
As a result, I became obsessed with mastering the language of finance, investment, and entrepreneurship.
Even as a child, I understood that financial knowledge could change my life—and eventually, help others do the same.
Therefore, I made education my foundation. I studied in classrooms, read finance books, and learned from real-life experience.
Regardless of the setting, I always asked one thing: “Teach me what I need to know next.”
As a result, my skills in financial strategy, forensic accounting, and AI-driven analysis grew steadily over time.
Consequently, each lesson added a tool to my belt—tools I now use to help clients and students around the world.
Breaking Barriers and Rewriting the Rules
However, the journey was far from easy. As an outsider, I faced constant resistance and quiet gatekeeping.
Thus, people doubted me. Some even said I didn’t belong in boardrooms or high-level financial conversations.
In response, I used knowledge as a weapon. I leveraged what I learned to unlock doors they tried to shut.
Eventually, each obstacle became a lesson. Each setback became a case study that I would later teach to others.
Instead of being pushed out, I pushed forward. I didn’t just adapt to the system—I mastered it on my terms.
Consequently, the very systems that tried to exclude me became the ones I now help others navigate and overcome.
From Student to Teacher: Purpose Through Education
Over time, I realized that success alone wasn’t enough. What truly fulfilled me was sharing what I had learned.
Consequently, whether helping entrepreneurs or training CFOs, I found purpose in teaching others how to rise.
For example, when a client recognizes a red flag, I witness a transformation in real time.
Subsequently, new financial tools were applied.
Because of this passion, I’ve taught leaders around the world—from Wall Street to West Africa and beyond.
Nevertheless, whether guiding startup founders or mentoring business owners, I focus on real-world education that creates tangible change.
Leading with Purpose
Today, I lead with purpose
—as a CPA, AI forensic strategist, and entrepreneurial mentor.
Through online courses, workshops, and speaking, my mission remains simple:
Teach the tools. Expose the tricks. Empower the transformation.
Needless to say, success is no longer just for insiders.
Thus, it’s for anyone willing to learn how the system really works.

Bank Advisory and Consulting Experience
My journey also includes impactful advisory and consulting roles that shaped financial systems and contributed to economic development on an international level.
Banking Advisor to the Governor of the Bank of Ghana: Under the auspices of the World Bank, I had the privilege of advising the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, the central bank of the country. I authored all Non-Bank Financial Institutions (NBFIs) prudential regulations in a nation that lacked mature bankruptcy regulations and depository insurance, ensuring alignment with Basel I standards. My work spanned a variety of financial entities, including savings banks, credit unions, foreign exchange bureaus, acceptance houses, venture capital companies, discount houses, building societies, mortgage finance, leasing, and finance companies.
To strengthen the country’s financial system against default and systemic risks while ensuring depositor protection, I re-engineered the Bank’s supervision methodology using a modified Uniform Bank Rating System. Additionally, I designed risk-based capital adequacy requirements and established a Self-Regulatory Organization to oversee over 500 credit unions. I also crafted comprehensive training programs and standardized reporting frameworks for bank regulators, significantly enhancing the effectiveness and reliability of financial oversight in Ghana.
Consultant to the African Development Foundation (ADF), Washington, D.C.: As a consultant to the African Development Foundation, a U.S. government donor agency, I developed critical financial models to aid ADF personnel in the proper accounting, forecasting, and reporting of Micro-Finance Institutions and Small/Medium Enterprises, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards. I provided essential training in credit analysis, prudential investment, and credit underwriting to ADF economists and country officers, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed financial decisions. Additionally, I advised the President of the ADF on the formation and structuring of a private equity fund targeted at Sub-Saharan Africa companies, aimed at fostering economic growth and development across the region.
These advisory roles allowed me to apply my expertise on a macro level, directly contributing to the strengthening of financial frameworks and economic resilience in emerging markets. They were professional experiences and opportunities to create tangible, lasting impacts that would benefit entire communities and economies.
